be in Christ

The whole certainty of the gospel does not lie in our belief, or in following certain precepts. All the safety and power of the gospel lies in God's effecting it "in Christ." This is what we should choose as a firm foundation for our own confidence. We may learn to see ourselves as God sees us, namely “in Christ.

Bible translation "Luther 2017"

"Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, neither can you unless you remain in me." (Johannes 15,4).

“Look, the hour is coming, indeed has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me. I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (Johannes 16,32-33).

“As you, Father, are in me, and I in you, may they also be in us, so that the world may believe that you sent me. And I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one even as we are one—I in them and you in me—that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” (Johannes 17,21-23).

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Römer 6,23).

“But if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” (Römer 8,11).

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Römer 8,38-39).

"For just as we have many members in one body, and these members do not all have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and each one is a member of the other." (Römer 12,4-5).

“But it is through him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom through God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that as it is written: ‘Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.’” (1. Korinther 1,30).

“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have received from God, and that you do not belong to yourselves?” (1. Korinther 6,19).

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new is here!” (2. Korinther 5,17).

“For our sake he made him who knew no sin to be sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2. Korinther 5,21).

“Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the discipliny, for in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith.” (Galater 3,25-26).

“Therefore, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, so walk in him, rooted and grounded in him and established in the faith as you were taught, and full of thanksgiving.” (Kolosser 2,6-7).

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you have died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” (Kolosser 3,1-4).

“He has saved us and called us to a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.” (2. Timotheus 1,9).

“But we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.” (1. Johannes 5,20).
