Realizing the reality of God I
"For the Word of God is alive and strong and sharper than any double-edged sword, and penetrates until it separates soul and spirit, also marrow and leg, and is a judge of the thoughts and senses of the heart" (Heb. 4,12). Jesus said: "I am the way and the truth and the life" (John 14,6). He also said: "But this is eternal life that they will recognize you who are only true God and whom you have sent, Jesus Christ." (John 17,3). Knowing and experiencing God - that's what life is about.
God created us to have a relationship with him. The essence, the core of eternal life, is that we know "God and know Jesus Christ" whom He has sent. Recognizing God does not come through a program or a method, but through a relationship with a person.
As the relationship develops, we come to understand and experience the reality of God. Is God real to you? Do you experience him every moment of every day?
Jesus says: "I am the way and the truth and the life" (John 14,6). Please note that Jesus did not say "I will show you the way" or "I will give you a road map", but instead "I am the way" , If we come to God to seek His will, what question would you most like to ask Him? Lord, show me what I should do according to your will? When, how, where and with whom? Show me what will happen. Or: Lord, just tell me one step at a time, then I'll implement it. If you follow Jesus one day at a time, will you be at the very center of God's will for your life? If Jesus is our way, then we need no other guidelines or road map.
God invites you to join him in his work
"If you seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness first, all of this will fall to you. So don't worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will take care of his. It is enough that every day has its own nuisance " (Matthew 6,33: 34).
God is absolutely trustworthy
- so you want to follow God one day at a time
- so you will even follow him if you have no details
- so that you allow it to be your way
"Because it is God who works both in you, wanting and accomplishing, according to his pleasure" (Philippians 2,13). The biblical accounts show that God always takes the initiative when he involves people in his work. When we see the Father working around us, it is our invitation from him to join him in this work. In the light of this, can you remember times when God invited you to do something and you didn't respond?
God is constantly working around you
"But Jesus answered them: My father works until this day, and I also work ... Then Jesus answered and said to them: Truly, truly, I say to you: The son cannot do anything of his own accord, but only what he sees the father doing; because what this does, the son does likewise. Because the father loves the son and shows him everything he does and will show him even bigger works, so that you will be amazed " (John 5,17: 19-20).
Here is a model for your personal life and for the church. What Jesus spoke about was a love relationship through which God attains his purposes. We do not have to figure out what to do for God because He is always working around us. We must follow Jesus' example and look to God for what he does every moment. Our responsibility is then to join our factory.
Look for where God is at work and join him! God has a lasting love relationship with you that is real and personal: «Jesus answered him:" You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind ". This is the highest and greatest bid " (Matthew 22,37: 38).
Knowing everything in your life as a Christian, including knowing him, experiencing him and recognizing his will, depends on the quality of your love relationship with God. You can describe the love relationship with God by simply saying, "I love you with all my heart"? God created us to have a love relationship with him. If the relationship is broken, everything else in life will be be out of order, a love relationship with God is more important than any other factor in your life!
