Blind trust

blind trustThis morning I stood in front of my mirror and asked the question: mirroring, mirroring on the wall, who is the most beautiful in the whole country? Then the mirror said to me: Can you please go aside?

I ask you a question: «Do you believe what you see or do you trust blindly? Today we take a close look at faith. I want to make one fact clear: God lives, he exists, believe it or not! God is not dependent on your belief. It is not brought to life when we call all people to believe. He will also be no less God if we don't want to know anything about him!

What is belief?

We live in two time zones: In other words, we live in a physically perceptible world, comparable to an ephemeral time zone. At the same time, we also live in an invisible world, in an eternal and heavenly time zone.

"But faith is a firm confidence in what one hopes and a non-doubt of what one does not see" (Hebrews 11,1).

What do you see when you look in the mirror? See your body slowly crumbling. Do you see wrinkles, folds or hair lying in the sink? Do you see yourself as a sinful person with all wrongdoings and sins? Or do you see a face full of joy, hope and confidence?

When Jesus died on the cross for your sins, he died for the sins of all mankind. With the sacrifice of Jesus you were released from your punishment and in Jesus Christ you received a new life. They were born from above through the power of the Holy Spirit to live a full life in a new spiritual dimension.

«If you have now been raised with Christ, seek what is above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Seek what is above, not what is on earth. For you died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. But when Christ your life is revealed, you will also be revealed with him in glory »(Colossians 3,1-4).

We dwell with Christ in his heavenly kingdom. The old me died and a new me came to life. We are now a new creature in Christ. What does it mean to be "a new creature in Christ?" You have a new life in Christ. You and Jesus are one. You will never be separated from Christ again. Your life is hidden with Christ in God. You are identified with Christ through and through. Your life is in it. He is your life. You are not only an earthly inhabitant here on earth, but also an inhabitant of heaven. Do you think so?

What should your eyes perceive?

Now that you have become a new creature, you need the spirit of wisdom:

"Therefore, after having heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and of your love for all saints, I do not cease to thank you for you and remember you in my prayer" (Ephesians 1,15-17).

What is Paul praying for? Other living conditions, healing, work? No! "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, give you the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation to recognize him".

Why does God give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation? Since you were spiritually blind, God gives you new eyesight so that you can recognize God.

"May he give you enlightened eyes of heart, that you may know what hope you are called of him, how rich the glory of his inheritance is for the saints" (Ephesians 1,18).

These new eyes let you see your wonderful hope and the glory of your inheritance to which you have been called.

"How exuberant is his power in us who we believe through the action of his mighty strength" (Ephesians 1,19).

You can see with your spiritual eyes that you can do everything through the one who makes you powerful, Jesus Christ!

«With her, his mighty power, he worked on Christ when he raised him from the dead and appointed him to his right hand in heaven over all kingdoms, power, power, rule and every name that is invoked, not only in this one World but also in the future »(Ephesians 1,20-21).

Jesus was given all power and glory over all empires, power, power and rule. In Jesus' name you share in this power.

"And he put everything under his feet and made him head of the church over all that is his body, namely the fullness of him who fills everything in all" (Ephesians 1,22-23).

That is the essence of faith. If you can see this new reality of who you are in Christ, it changes your whole thinking. What you are experiencing and also experiencing now gives your current living conditions a new meaning, a new dimension. Jesus fills your life with all its fullness.

My personal example:
There are living conditions and people in my life that tear me down emotionally. Then I go to my favorite place, in silence and talk to my spiritual father and Jesus. I explain to him how empty I feel and how much I appreciate that he fills me with all of his being.

“That's why we don't get tired; but even if our outer man decays, the inner man is renewed from day to day. Because our distress, which is temporal and easy, creates an eternal and weighty glory for us, who we do not see on the visible, but on the invisible. Because what is visible is temporal; but what is invisible is eternal »(2. Corinthians 4,16-18).

You have life through Jesus Christ. He is your life. He is your head and you are part of his spiritual body. Your affliction today and your affairs of your present life create a weighty glory for all eternity.

When you stand in front of the mirror again, do not look at your exterior, at the visible, but at the invisible that lasts forever!
