The Last Judgement
Will you be able to stand before God on judgment day? It is the judgment of all living and dead and is closely related to the resurrection. Some Christians fear this event. There is a reason we should fear it, because we all sin: "They are all sinners and lack the glory that they should have before God" (Romans 3,23).
How often do you sin? Occasionally? Every day? Man is inherently sinful and sin brings death. “Rather, everyone who is tempted is stimulated and lured by his own desire. After that, when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; but sin, when it is finished, gives birth to death »(James 1,15).
Then can you stand before God and tell Him about all the good things you have done in your life? How important were you in society, how much community service did you do? How highly qualified are you? No - none of this will give you access to the kingdom of God because you are still a sinner and God cannot live with sin. “Do not be afraid, you little flock! For it pleased your father to give you the kingdom »(Luke 12,32). Only God Himself in Christ has solved this universal human problem. Jesus took all of our sins upon himself when he died for us. As God and man, only his sacrifice could cover and eliminate all human sins - forever and for every person who accepts Him as Savior.
On Judgment Day, you will stand before God through the Holy Spirit in Christ. For this reason and only for this reason, God your Father will gladly give you and all who are in Christ his Eternal Kingdom in eternal communion with the Triune God.
