New life

824 new lifeThe seasons not only show us the natural cycles, but also what they want to give us spiritually for our path through life. We ask ourselves: What is the meaning of life, death and is there something hidden that needs to be discovered.

We enjoy the colorful spring flowers. They are a sign of new life. Even King Solomon in all his splendor was not as beautifully dressed as one of them. If God dresses all flowers so beautifully and then lets them dry up after a short time, aren't you, dear fellow human beings, worth much more to him and has he done much more for you?

The summer months follow with the grain harvest. The fruits of the field reach their best ripeness. Harvesting used to be hard work and even today, when the combine harvesters bring in the crops, sweat and joy go hand in hand. For us humans, such processes have a profound meaning. We remember the colorful years of our childhood and youth. We worked hard and enjoyed the pay, the time with our families, our hobbies, the free hours and days and hopefully also the wonderful time with God.

Now the autumn leaves are shining in gold. It is a quieter time to look at our lives, our thoughts, words and actions. We realise that our lives have entered autumn and our gaze is turning to winter. It is a time for reflection and for asking how we let go of life and what the future holds for us. "How will the dead be raised, and with what kind of body will they come?" (1. Corinthians 15 35).

Every grain that you sow, whether barley, rye, or any other crop, does not become the body that it will later have. God gives every seed a body, as and when he wants. It is about new life: "So also the resurrection of the dead. It is sown corruptible and will rise incorruptible. It is sown in humility and will rise in glory. It is sown in weakness and will rise in power. It is sown a natural body and will rise a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. As it is written: The first man, Adam, "became a living being," and the last Adam, that is, Jesus, a spirit who gives life" (1. Corinthians 15,42-45).
It is useful to ask yourself at all times: How are we? Do we trust Jesus completely? Because of our faith, Jesus will transform our earthly, corruptible life into a new heavenly life of incorruptibility. We will put off our weakness and helplessness - all that is corruptible. Jesus will clothe us with immortality. We will see Jesus as he is and thank him for giving us access to new life through his sacrifice.
