Is there an eternal punishment?

235 is eternal punishmentHave you ever had reason to punish a disobedient kid? Have you ever stated that the punishment would never end? I have some questions for all of us who have children. Here comes the first question: Was your child disobedient to you? Well, take some time to think if you are not sure. Okay, if you answered yes, like all other parents, we come to the second question: Have you ever punished your child for disobedience? Let's come to the last question: how long has the punishment lasted? More specifically, did you state that the punishment would continue? That sounds crazy, right?

We, who are weak and imperfect parents, forgive our children if they disobey us. We may punish you even if we think it appropriate in a situation, but I wonder how many of us would consider it right, if not crazy, to punish her for the rest of her life.

But some Christians want to make us believe that God, our Heavenly Father, who is neither weak nor imperfect, punishes people forever and ever, even those who have never heard of the gospel. And speak of God, he is full of grace and mercy.

Let's take a moment to think about this, as there is a big gap between what we learn from Jesus and what some Christians believe about eternal damnation. An example: Jesus commands us to love our enemies and even to do good to those who hate and persecute us. But some Christians believe that God not only hates his enemies, but literally roasts them, mercilessly and relentlessly, for all eternity.

On the other hand, Jesus prayed for the soldiers, saying, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing." But some Christians teach that God forgives only the few whom He predestined before the world was created that they may be forgiven. Well, if that were true, then Jesus' prayer shouldn't have made such a big difference, should it?

As much as we humans love our children, how much more are they loved by God? This is a rhetorical question - God loves her infinitely more than we ever could.

Jesus says: “Where is there a father among you who, when he asks for a fish, offers his son a snake for the fish? ... If you, who are evil, can give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! " (Luke 11,11-13).

The truth is exactly as Paul wrote to us: «God really loves the world. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that all who believe in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through him »(Joh. 3,16-17).

You know that the salvation of this world is a world that God loves so much that He sent His Son to save them - depends on God and only on God alone. If salvation were dependent on us and our success in bringing the gospel to people, then there really would be a big problem. It does not depend on us. It depends on God, and God sent Jesus to do the task and Jesus did the job.

We are blessed that we can participate in spreading the gospel. The actual salvation of the people we love and care for, and the people we do not even know, and the people who, as it seems to us, have never heard the gospel. In short, the salvation of each is a matter of concern to God, and God is doing really well. That's why we put our trust in him, and only in him alone!
