The broken jug

630 the broken jugOnce upon a time there was a water carrier in India. A heavy wooden stick rested on his shoulders, to which a large water jug was attached to the left and right. Now one of the jugs had a crack. The other, however, was perfectly formed and with it the water carrier was able to deliver a full portion of water at the end of his long walk from the river to his master's house. In the broken jug, however, there was only about half of the water left when he got to the house. For a full two years, the water carrier delivered his master a full and a half-full jug. The perfect of the two jugs was of course very proud that the water carrier could always carry a full portion of water in it. The jug with the crack, however, was ashamed that it was only half as good as the other jug because of its flaw. After two years of shame, the broken jug couldn't take it any longer and said to its carrier: "I'm so ashamed of myself and I want to apologize to you." The water carrier looked at the jug and asked: “But what for? What are you ashamed of? " 'I was unable to hold the water all along, so you could only bring half of it to your master's house through me. You have to work hard, but you don't get the full wages because you only ever deliver one and a half instead of two jugs of water. " said the jug. The water carrier felt sorry for the old jug and wanted to comfort him. So he said: "When we go to my master's house, pay attention to the wonderful wildflowers on the roadside." The jug was able to smile a little and so they set off. At the end of the way, however, the jug felt quite miserable again and again contrite apologized to the water carrier.

But he replied: “Have you seen the wildflowers on the roadside? Have you noticed that they only grow on your side of the road, not the one where I carry the other jug? I knew about your jump from the start. And so I collected some wildflower seeds and scattered them on your side of the way. Every time we ran to my master's house, you watered her. I was able to pick some of these wonderful flowers every day and use them to decorate my master's table. You created all this beauty. "
