The bride and groom
You have likely had an opportunity in your life to attend a wedding as a bride, groom, or guest. The Bible describes a special bride and groom and their wonderful meaning.
John the Baptist says, "He who has the bride is the bridegroom," referring to the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Jesus' love for all people is infinitely great. John uses the image of bride and bridegroom to illustrate this love. No one can prevent Jesus from showing his gratitude through his love. He loves people so much that, through his blood, he has redeemed wife, husband, and children from their sins once and for all. Through his new life, which Jesus gives to every believer in him, love flows to them because they have become completely one with him. "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh, that is, one whole person. This is a profound mystery, but I am referring to Christ and the church." (Eph 5,31-32).
Therefore it is easy to understand that Jesus as bridegroom knows his bride and the church very well and loves from his heart. He has prepared everything so that she will live with him in complete harmony forever.
I would like to share with you the idea that you, too, will receive a personal invitation to the wedding feast: “Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory, for the wedding of the Lamb (that is, Jesus) has come, and his bride has made herself ready. And it was given to her to wear linen, fine and clean. (Linen represents the righteousness of the saints.) And he said to the apostle John, ‘Write this down: Blessed and saved are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb.’” (Offb 19,7-9).
It doesn't matter if you are a woman, a man, or a child to be a beautiful and worthy bride of Christ. It depends on what your relationship with Jesus the Bridegroom is like. If you admit that your present and future life is entirely dependent on him, you are his bride. You can be very happy and happy about it.
As the bride of Jesus, you belong to him alone. They are sacred in his eyes. Since you are one with Jesus your bridegroom, he moves your thoughts, feelings and actions in a divine way. You are expressing his holiness and righteousness. You entrust him with your whole life because you understand that Jesus is your life.
That is a wonderful perspective for our future. Jesus is our bridegroom and we are his bride. We await our bridegroom full of hope, because he has prepared everything for the wedding. We gladly accept his invitation and look forward to seeing him as he is.
