The unlimited fullness of God

the unlimited fill of godHow can someone live the life of a Christian in this world? I would like to draw your attention to a section of a prayer that one of God's greatest servants, the Apostle Paul, prayed for a small church in a place called Ephesus.

Ephesus was a large and prosperous city in Asia Minor and was the headquarters of the goddess Diana and her worship. Because of this, Ephesus was a very difficult place for a follower of Jesus. His beautiful and uplifting prayer for this little church, surrounded by pagan worship, is recorded in the letter to the Ephesians. «My prayer is that Christ lives in you by faith. You should be firmly rooted in his love; you should build on them. Because only in this way can you experience the full extent of his love with all other Christians. Yes, I pray that you will understand this love deeper and deeper, which we can never fully grasp with our minds. Then you will also be more and more filled with all the riches of life that can be found with God »(Ephesians 3,17-19 Hope for All).

Let us consider the dimension of God's love in different units: First, the length that God's love is ready for - it is limitless! «Therefore he can save forever those who come to God through him (Jesus); for he lives forever and asks for them »(Hebrews 7,25).

Next, the breadth of God's love is shown: "And he (Jesus) is the atonement for our sins, not only for ours, but also for those of the whole world" (1. John 2,2).

Now the depth of it: "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ: although he is rich, he became poor for your sake, so that you might become rich through his poverty" (2. Corinthians 8,9).

What can the height of this love be? «But God, who is rich in mercy, in his great love with which he loved us, also made us alive with Christ, who were dead in sin - you are saved by grace -; and he raised us with us and established us in heaven in Christ Jesus »(Ephesians 2,4-6).

This is the amazing generosity of God's love for everyone and filled with the power of that love that inhabits every corner of our life and we can all shed our limitations: "But in all of this we overcome far through the one who has loved us" (Romans 8,37).

You are so loved that you know what step you will be empowered to follow Jesus!
