The greatest birth story

the greatest birth storyWhen I was born in Pensacola, Florida Navy Hospital, no one knew I was in the breech position until I held out the wrong end to the doctor. About every 20th baby does not lie upside down in the womb shortly before birth. Fortunately, a breech position does not automatically mean that the baby has to be brought out into the world with a caesarean section. At the same time, it was not long before I was born and there were no further complications. This event gave me the nickname "frog legs".

Everyone has their story about their birth. Children enjoy learning more about their own birth and mothers like to tell in great detail how their children were born. Birth is a miracle and often brings tears to the eyes of those who have had the experience.
Although most births fade quickly in memory, there is a birth that will never be forgotten. From the outside, this birth was an ordinary one, but its importance was felt all over the world and still has an impact on all of humanity worldwide.

When Jesus was born, he became Immanuel - God with us. Until Jesus came, God was only with us in a certain way. He was with mankind in the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night and he was with Moses in the burning bush.

But his birth as a human made him touchable. This birth gave him eyes, ears and mouth. He ate with us, he talked to us, he listened to us, he laughed and touched us. He cried and experienced pain. Through his own suffering and sadness, he was able to understand our suffering and sadness. He was with us and he was one of us.
By becoming one of us, Jesus answers the perpetual complaint: "No one understands me". In the Letter to the Hebrews Jesus is described as a high priest who suffers with us and understands us because he was subjected to the same temptations as we. The Schlachter translation puts it this way: “Because we have a great high priest, Jesus, the Son of God, who has crossed the heavens, let us hold fast to the confession. For we do not have a high priest who could not suffer with our weakness, but who has been tempted in everything like us, but without sin »(Hebrews 4,14-15).

It is a widespread and deceptive view that God lives in a heavenly ivory tower and lives very far from us. That is not true, the Son of God came to us as one of us. God with us is still with us. When Jesus died, we died, and when he rose, we rose with him too.

The birth of Jesus was more than just the birth story of another person born in this world. It was God's special way to show us how much he loves us.
