We are not alone

People are afraid to be alone - emotionally and physically. Therefore, solitary confinement in prisons is considered one of the worst punishments. Psychologists say that the fear of being alone makes people insecure, worried and depressed.

God the Father knew about it and therefore repeatedly assured people that they are not alone. He was with them (Isaiah 43,1-3), he helped them (Isaiah 41,10) and he wouldn't leave her (5. Moses 31,6). The message was clear: we are not alone.

To underline this message, God sent his Son Jesus to earth. Not only did Jesus bring healing and salvation to a broken world, but he was one of us. He understood firsthand what we were going through because he lived among us (Hebrews 4,15). The message was clear: we are not alone.
When the God-ordained time came when Jesus finished his earthly ministry on the cross, Jesus wanted his disciples to know that they would not be alone even if he would forsake them4,15-21). The Holy Spirit would reiterate this message: We are not alone.

We receive the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in us just as they receive us, becoming part of Divine Providence. God assures us that we do not have to be afraid to be alone. If we are degenerated because we are going through a divorce or separation, we are not alone. When we feel empty and lonely because we have lost a loved one, we are not alone.

If we feel that everyone is against us because of false rumors, we are not alone. If we feel worthless and useless because we can not find a job, we are not alone. If we feel misunderstood because others claim we have wrong motives for our behavior, we are not alone. When we feel weak and helpless because we are sick, we are not alone. When we feel like we're failing because we went bankrupt, we're not alone. If we feel that the burden of this world is too heavy for us, we are not alone.

The things of this world can overwhelm us, but the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are always by our side. They are not there to take our troublesome circumstances away from us, but rather to reassure us that we are not alone no matter what valleys we have to walk through. They guide, lead, carry, strengthen, understand, comfort, encourage, advise us and walk with us every step of our life journey. They will not take their hand off us and will not leave us. The Holy Spirit lives in us and therefore we never need to feel lonely (1. Corinthians 6,19), because: We are not alone!
