New fulfilled life

New fulfilled lifeA central theme in the Bible is God's ability to create life where there was none before. He transforms barrenness, hopelessness and death into new life. In the beginning, God created heaven and earth and all life, including man, from nothing. The creation story in Genesis shows how early humanity fell into a profound moral decline that was ended by the Flood. He saved a family that laid the foundation for a new world. God established a relationship with Abraham and promised him and his wife Sarah numerous descendants and countless blessings. Despite recurring barrenness in Abraham's family - first Sarah, then Isaac and Rebekah, and Jacob and Rachel encountered difficulty having children - God faithfully fulfilled His promises and made possible the birth of offspring.

Although the Israelites, the descendants of Jacob, grew in number, they fell into bondage and appeared like an unsustainable people—comparable to a helpless newborn unable to protect or feed itself and exposed to the elements. God himself used this poignant image to describe the early years of the people of Israel. (Hesekiel 16,1–7)They were freed from their hopeless situation by the wonderful power of the living God. Even in seemingly hopeless situations, He can create life. God is the master of the impossible!

In the New Testament, the angel Gabriel was sent by God to Mary to tell her about the miraculous birth of Jesus: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy—the Son of God.” (Lk 1,35).

It was biologically impossible, yet through the power of God, life arose where it could not have existed. After the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, at the end of his earthly ministry, we experienced the greatest miracle—his resurrection from the dead to supernatural life! Through the work of Jesus Christ, we Christians are freed from the death penalty our sins deserved. We are called to freedom, to the promise of eternal life, and to a clear conscience. “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Röm 6,23).

Thanks to Jesus' death and resurrection, we experience the end of our old self and the beginning of a spiritual rebirth with a new identity before God: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" (2. Kor 5,17)We become a new person, spiritually reborn, and receive a new identity.

We see God's hand in our lives, turning painful and destructive events into good that nourishes us and shapes us in His image. Our current life will end one day. When we consider the great truth, we see: Out of barrenness, hopelessness and death, God creates a new, rich, fulfilling life. He has the strength to do it.
